*In most jurisdictions, a person cannot legally practice as a counselor or therapist without a license, as they are not qualified to provide professional mental health services to clients, making their actions unethical and illegal. To report someone practicing counseling or therapy without a license, you may file a complaint for criminal prosecution through the online complaint portal with the  Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) or by completing a complaint intake report with the Division of Professional Regulation (DPR).

**There are different types of yoga teachers, including: Certified Yoga Teachers (CYT), Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher (TIYT), and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F). Each of these credentials is rooted in different forms of study and experience, yet are not licensed mental health providers (eg. LCSW). Please do your research in finding what works best for you!
